I have spent an incredible amount of time diving, exploring, and studying Lucky Peak the past 15 years. In a local world if “There’s no local diving”, this place often feels like my own personal journey.

Lucky Peak Reservoir, nestled within the Basin and Range Province, is a geological treasure trove. Here, the persistent forces of faulting and block faulting have meticulously crafted the underwater landscape. These forces have created a visually captivating terrain, highlighted by layers of sedimentary rocks, including sandstone, shale, and limestone, whose tales date back to the Cretaceous and Tertiary periods. The Boise River, over the eons, has masterfully carved through these strata, leaving behind a remarkable underwater topography.
